Sky Restaurant Concepts - Sparrow Trailhead

Restaurant Expeditor (Expo)

Location: Peoria, Arizona | On-site

Pay range: Starting at $14.70 per hour plus tips. 25 - 35 hours per week.

Schedule: Evening shifts Monday through Friday, with day and evening shifts available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Keep service moving. Help every plate reach the table at its best.

If you notice the missing side before a plate leaves the kitchen and enjoy keeping a busy service organized, bring that attention to detail to Sparrow Trailhead. As our Restaurant Expeditor, you'll connect the kitchen and dining room, helping guests receive accurate, well-presented meals at the right time.

Sparrow Trailhead is part of Sky Restaurant Concepts, a family-owned, family-first restaurant company rooted in authentic flavors and community.

About the Role

As the Expo, you'll oversee the final steps between food preparation and table delivery. You'll track tickets, check plates, coordinate runners, and communicate with cooks and servers so each table receives a coordinated dining experience.

Reporting to the Manager on Duty and working closely with the chef and service team, you'll take ownership of the handoff. That means catching concerns before food leaves the kitchen, communicating allergy instructions accurately, and following through on delays or missing items.

Restaurant expo, food-running, or kitchen experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to prioritize during busy service are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Track active tickets and coordinate course timing with cooks and servers, clearly communicating what is needed to complete each table.
Check every plate for the correct item, preparation, modifications, garnish, accompaniments, presentation, and temperature before releasing it.
Confirm allergy instructions with the chef and communicate them clearly during handoff; never guess about ingredients or substitutions.
Anticipate completed orders, prepare runners for pickup, and move food promptly while protecting quality.
Give runners accurate table numbers and special instructions, coordinating delivery so each course arrives together whenever possible.
Deliver the final one or two plates to a table when the expo station is covered and service allows.
Monitor delays, missing items, recooks, and low item counts; notify the server and manager promptly and follow through until resolved.
Keep the pass (the kitchen's food pickup area) clean, stocked, and organized, prioritizing active service over side work.
Complete opening checks, prepare for expected guest volume, stock supplies and accompaniments, and verify equipment is ready.
Complete closing checks, clean and reset the station, store food and supplies correctly, shut down designated equipment, and obtain manager approval before leaving.

Required Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize under pressure.
Ability to learn Sparrow's menu, plate standards, allergy procedures, table numbers, and seat numbers, and complete required training.
Clear, respectful communication with kitchen and service teammates.
Dependable attendance and willingness to support the team.
Ability to follow restaurant dress, uniform, grooming, and food-safety standards.
Ability to stand and move throughout service, handle hot plates, and carry food safely, with reasonable accommodation as needed.
Availability for scheduled evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

Restaurant expo, food-running, or kitchen experience.

Pay and Benefits

Employment type: Part-time, W-2, approximately 25-35 hours per week.
Pay: Starting at $14.70 per hour plus tips. Higher starting pay may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
